whats wrong with me?

Question Posted Tuesday April 29 2008, 8:42 pm

i got a sore throat this morning and it hurts when i swallow, and i just feel it there. and also i feel nauseous at random moments during the day. also during this test we're taking in school.. like standardized tests that take several hours. i dont feel nervous really but i felt nauseous at some point today and yesterday when we did 2 portions of the test. i kinda feel nauseous now too. and my period.. i mean its quite irregular but its supposed to come around now but it hasnt yet. i havent even felt cramps yet. and i havent even kissed a boy yet so being pregnant isnt a concern. whats wrong and how can i fix this? oh yeah i also have a headache and feel kinda tired although i slept for 10 hours last night.. i usually dont sleep that much on a school night too.

14/f, and thanks for the help! =]

It's most likely just an ordinary virus/germ.. Sore throat, nausea, headaches and tiredness are common symptoms for being "sick" in general (it could be many things). You'll probably be over it soon. Meanwhile, drink lots of fluids and don't eat anything weird that could make you nauseous. More rest helps, so try to get as much sleep as you can (again). Over-the-counter drugs will help some of your symptoms (but make sure you know what you're doing first-- sometimes they can make you worse).

If you don't feel progressively better after about a week, or worse symptoms develop, then you should go to the doctor.

maybe you have mono? share drinks with people? you could have gotten it. if this continues for another week go to the doctors and have them swab your throat

your nerves might just be kicking in and making you feel sick. unless you are actually coming down with something.
but if not then, alot of people get sore throats in the morning. its just not from talking and your throat being dry during the night.. it should go away.
and when you feel nauseous during the day.. might be b/c of your nerves. you could have social anxiety? or possibly the fact that your worried about passing the test?! i have an irregular period too and your nerves and stress can delay it. not too sure about the headache but its could be due to the amount of stress you have, if any. you may feel tired b/c your not really getting good sleep b/c your worried about the tests, tossing and turning too much in the middle of the night. good luck on the tests tho.
