Stuck tampon applicator!

Question Posted Sunday February 24 2008, 8:11 pm

This is a bit embarassing and a bit gross so sorry but I need some advice quick! I am on my period and I used a tampon with an applicator. Half of the cardboard tube is stuck inside of me. When I realised I pulled the tampon out but it came out on its own. I have tried taking it out but I think I have made it worse! Any suggestions?

Its gross, but there are only two things you can do.
You can either stick your fingers inside of yourself and pull, which ought to work, unless you're too tight to fit your fingers.
I had this exact problem a few years ago, and the only method I had to get it out was this, and I'm not sure its advisable for everyone, but anyway:
Take a small set of tweezers and put them in clenched tightly so as not to pinch yourself. Open them up a tiny bit, and pinch the applicator with them, then tug it out. This may be easier in the bathtub, because your muscles will be more relaxed.
Good luck!

you can try to put your pinky or something small in there to try to get it out you can also open your vagina and look in there with a mirror and try to grab it with your fingers it might hurt a little because its not that wet down there but I hope I helped=]

ummm...i am a little scared about you trying to take it out on your own. Maybe taking a bath may loosen it up. If it doesn't come out soon you might have to go to the doctor. I hope it comes out! Good luck!
Also maybe you should consider useing plastic applicators in the future.
