I was looking for small size (best if it can fit in my pocket), no shutter delay (well, as little as possible), video hopefully with sound, and at a maximum price of $400.
What do you think? What is the shutter speed on this because I am not totally sure what it means? Thanks.
First of all, you won't ever need 12 megapixels. The difference when you get up to so many megapixels is hardly noticeable unless you want to make HUGE prints--the size only professionals will want to make. Instead, you'll be paying for megapixels you won't use, and you'll need a much larger memory card because the files will be so large. That costs a lot more money.
Second, I would look for something with a larger zoom capability. When it comes to zoom, digital is useless. All it does is essentially crop the picture you take, making it look closer but ultimately it's lower quality. Look for more optical zoom.
That said, I've seen a lot worse. I couldn't find about shutter speed--perhaps I was overlooking it. It just didn't strike me as the best fit for an all-purpose camera, which seems to be what you want.
