Neck Injury (still pain and stiffness after 6 months) Basically, I had a few traumatic injuries to my neck about 6 months ago. A compression injury from a enlightened friend of mine who hit me in the head while trying on rock climbing helmets. And I also took a pretty bad fall snowboarding.
My doctor diagnosed me with a prolapsed disk and put me on anti-inflammatories and muscle relaxers for months. I felt great until I stopped taking the medicine. I then started physical therapy and over a few months had a lot of success. I was then encouraged to start exercising and returning to light sports. I then had a major relapse. The relapse was caused by carrying 4 liters of water in each hand for about a half mile. The pain and stiffness was worse than it had ever been. I cannot tell you how depressing this is. I am just now regaining my neck mobility after 2 weeks of physio. The most disconcerning aspect was a prickling sensation around the base of my neck. Is that nerve damage?! Should I return to exercising? Has anyone had a lingering tension sprain in their neck due to a previously torn disk? What should I do?

You know it might be nerve damage. I can't tell you this 100 percent but you should definitely have it checked out. Don't allow it to get any worse. I wish you the best of luck. ]
