In the movie "Boys Don't Cry" where Hillary Swank plays a woman named Teena Brandon who dresses as a man named Brandon, and falls in love with this girl named Alana. Well towards the end it got confusing because alana's family found out and raped brandon, and him and alana were gonna run away together, and alana called him brandon but right at the end she called him Teena, so did she know he was a she?

Lana had no idea "Brandon" was born as a female because, throughout the movie, Brandon starts dating Lana and doesn't tell anyone about actually being a woman. His best friends finally find out and his life becomes horrible. So, Lana had no idea in the beginning of the movie. However, by the end, Lana had some kind of idea that he was a she..mainly during the bathroom scene when Brandon's pants were pulled down (most likely). But, Lana didn't care that he was a she.

Well, I haven't seen the movie in a long time. But I'm pretty sure she finds out he was a girl when her brother confronts her about it.
