Piano Symbols?

Question Posted Thursday August 2 2007, 10:59 am

I'm learning how to play Georgiana from Pride and Prejudice, and there is a symbol on top of the 4th note. I found out that it is called a turn, and I know you play notes around it really fast. but which notes?

in a turn, you play the note it says, then the note above it, then the original note again, then the note below the original note. i'm not sure if it's a half step or a whole step either direction... i think it's a half step going up, and then a whole step going down. try it out and see how it sounds. hope i helped :)
