She comes to me for advice but I'm not sure how to help her.
She grew up in New Zealand, as a tomboy. So she's a bit on the androgynous side. She's really nice, weird, and cute.. but can also be shy and awkward.
This boy she likes is from Russia and he's somewhat shy too.
They have a class together. What advice can I give her..?
With flirting and getting closer to him?
Some ideas?
She drew him a valentines day card and asked him for help on homework... She really likes him and is so nervous.. She doesn't know what to do.

Talking about shared interests or concerns (a hobby, classes, school events, current events, books, etc.) is a great way to open up to other conversation and a closer relationship, especially between shy people. It gives them something to focus on besides "augh, I'm so nervous." It also might help for her to focus on just having a normal conversation, rather than trying to impress someone. It makes it easier to behave naturally.
