okay heres the deal :\ my bf has been my best friend for a few years & we have been really close. well last week we ended up getting a little "too close" (;]) & hooked up for the first & it was amazing and then we both decided that we wanted a relationship with eachother & now were in a comitted relationship. okay well he told me he was in love with me yesterday and weve only been dating a week & i guess its possible. but the feelings arent there "yet" on my part. i really really really like him a lot and i care about him so much & he means everything to me; and its definetley as more than a friend..but im not "in love with him" and i feel awkward saying "i love you too" because the feelings arent there yet. but he thinks i dont believe that i love him! i guess i believe it, but i dont know if he really does because he didnt think of me as more than a friend until last week. also; i dont want to reject him when he says ''i love you'' but i dont want him to think im lame by saying ''i care about you too'' or anything like that. hmm what should i do any advice is appriciated thanks :]

Otherwise he will just end up getting hurt. And just tell him exactly that. Explain that you believe he loves you, but that you are not sure that you feel that strongly for him. You don't have to say it, But PLEASE if you do say it make sure you mean it. [ *Kate*'s advice column | Ask *Kate* A Question ]
