ITUNES TV SHOW

i downloaded a tv show on itunes for my ipod. it donwloaded, went onto my ipod, and i watched it. today, when i went to show it to a friend, it was gone. infact, not only was this tv show gone, the whole catagory for tv shows is missing from my ipod! i looked on itune & the tv show is still in my library under "tv shows" and it is checked. however, even if i plug in my ipod to update the ipod, the catagory of "tv shows" does not reappear on my ipod! how do i get it back?
