Seven Tears Into The Sea

Has anyone read seven years into the sea by Terri Farley? I read that book and I really liked it but I didn't understand the ending at all! Can someone please tell me?

i read this book too! it was a mazing the ending is about how the only reason he came ashore was to find a mate and he won't be able to come back on land for another 7 years (which is very sad), i'm not quite sure what part you didn't understand but that is the super basic explenation of what i remember.
