Well, I'm kinda prepish I'm not like a fake blonde who says "oh my god" and "like" in every sentence.. The person under me gave you some advice to make your own clothes and I tried doing it and its very hard. You might as well go into a store and find a shirt that you havent seen anyone where. personally i shop at abercrombie and fitch (i know expensive) but they have some really nice stuff on sale and its actually not that bad. hollister is a lot cheaper than abercrombie and just as stylish and there regular price clothing isn't that bad in my opinion. wet seal and urban behavior have really cute clothes that not a lot of people wear. and the shirts are only like $12.50 each and its not bad at all. victoria secrets has the PINK line that is soooo cute. there is tons of sweatpants and cute tees sweatshirts and bags.
for specific outfits most preps wear the jean mini skirts with leggings under them and a hollister tee with the hair in a messy bun and a cute headband to match.

If you are looking for something origional, I suggest making your own clothes or visiting a thrift store. Sewing beads onto some of your old shirts and turning your old jeans into purses are also things you could do if you want to make your outfits look funkier. I suggest you start watching Project Runway. It's a show featuring a competition to se who can design the best clothes. You could probably get some great ideas off of that! :) Good luck and send me some pictures once you have made your first outfit :)
