Designated ugly fat friend!! When a girl goes out who is generally the skinny pretty one, she seems to always have a friend who's not-so-skinny and not-so-pretty. This "duff" tends to scare away guys that may be hanging around too much on the skinny pretty one.

D.U.F.F or “duff” stands for "designated ugly fat friend". These are the not so fit, unattractive counterparts that pretty girls have accompany them to a bar in order to ward off all attempts by other men to get in their pants.
