Question Posted Thursday September 7 2006, 10:55 pm
In December I'm booked to play a gig (I play blues piano) with a guy my age (15, plays guitar) whom I've never met before. I've seen him play before, and my dad said that if I wanted to I could sit in with him and play. Which I definitely want to do because this guy is gorgeous and my dad approves of him, which is rare. My ultimate goal is for him to notice that I have a lot of talent, and that might help me get my foot in the door of the music biz (he's recorded a CD already on an indie label and has famous friends). Anyway, my question is: how do I go about "showing off" without actually "showing off"? I'm generally a calm, cool, and collected person and I want to come across as a smart chick, and I'm not quite sure how to do that because people have told me that I intimidate people a bit when I meet them. Thank you.
