Playing video through my laptop

How can I hook up my VRC to my laptop so it will play video? I trying to play on tape through a video editing on my laptop using my capture device Everytime I try to make it play, it only plays on the televison. What am I doing wrong?

Rewording: I am able to hook my capture device up to my DVD player and get footage from the DVD into my video editing program. Can I hook up the same capture device to my VRC and get footage from tapes? Whenever I try hooking it up, the footage only plays through my TV, and not the laptop. How can I put video from tapes onto my laptop? My capture device is a Dazzle Digital Video Creator 80.

Well, your grammer/spelling is terrible so i'll do my best to help you out. If you're trying to simply play video on your laptop lcd screen, you may be interested in a device such as this...
