What does "I laugh in your general direction!" mean? ....I don't get it =/

It's sort of from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. In said film, King Arthur approaches a castle, looking for the Grail. It happens to be controlled by the French, who throw him a number of insults, including "I fart in your general direction," basically meaning, "I fart towards you/ on you"

I laugh in your general direction is a variation of this.
