jaw muscles

Question Posted Friday June 30 2006, 7:37 pm

my jaw muslces, particularly the ones on the bottom and in front of my ears hurt when i open my mouth a lot, like wide open. i used to shift my jaw from side to side to try cracking it there, and it worked for awhile, but then i stopped. now it really hurts when i yawn or something. should i see a doctor? are things always going to be this way?
