So I kinda had this thing with this guy from school. I'm a 11th grader and he's a 12th grader, but we run into each quite a bit.
Well, we had a bit of a messy breakup. We've been friends for years then got "together" and it all messed up. Long story short, a friend of his told me he had been talking behind my back. I confronted my bf about it and he got mad that I didn't trust him, blah blah blah and said we were over. Just like that. I asked to work things out but he just wanted to be friends. Well I refused to be friends with him because he wasn't willing to even try to work things out, and I haven't even heard from him since then so I guess that's it. I blocked and deleted him off my IMs and off my phone.
Thing is, I'm dreading going back to school in a couple of weeks and seeing him. It doesn't help we get the same bus and share some of the same friends. I don't know how I'll ever be able to get over him if I have to see him. Also, we got to 2nd base together.. and I'm afraid he's going to tell people this. I really regret going that far now, but the main issue I have is that it's going to spread around the school.
Should I swallow my pride and be friends with him, just so there'll be peace? Or am I justified in not being friends with him? I really don't want to speak to him again but I'm afraid of what's going to happen if there's bitterness between us.
Additional info, added Monday June 26 2006, 10:13 am: I might add he was apparently planning on breaking up with me for a while because we were "too different and I had too many insecurities" but this gave him the opportunity. . AskNicolethtsme answered Monday June 26 2006, 1:51 pm: I think that you are totally justified in not wanting to be friends with him. I had a friend named Elizabeth, and she pissed me and all of my friends off so we decided not to be friends. Whenever we passed each other in the hallway, especially since we had lockers right next to each other, we decided to at least be civil to each other or ignore each other completely.
