My hair is thick after straightening

Question Posted Saturday June 24 2006, 6:04 pm

Well, I'm african-american and I have permed hair. Meaning, it's straight. I usually get my hair done professionally, but when I go swimming it's usually on a vacation and my stylist isn't there. After I blow-dry my hair and flat-iron it, it's straight, but still really thick. What products or techniques can I use to get it like when I get it done?

Please, only answer if you know about african-american hair.

blue_sunlyte answered Sunday June 25 2006, 8:03 am:
Try using pressing oil as you straighten your hair with the flat-iron because that always helps my hair not to be too thick. The pressing oil kinda "locks in" the effects of the heat keeping your hair straigter for longer.

Hope this helps! :-)
