Question Posted Saturday May 13 2006, 9:30 am

i just bought this ipod video its the one for 300.00 $.and i brought it home and hooked it up to the back of my computer. and it was charging and it put the songs on there instantly! [ the ones i had on my computer] && then i took it to my friends house mabe 1 hour later and it was charged anough to still stay on and listen to music. and then all of a sudden it froze. and it stayed frozin for like 1 hour and when we went to bed it was still frozin so i dont know when it cut off in the night. but this morning i tried to turn it on and it had the little picture of the apple on the screen. but i wasnt really lit up. [ need i remind you EVERY time i tried to turn it back on i pressed and holded every single button and nothing happend ] anyways! so now i just hooked it to my computer and it had the picture it was charging but it just stood still. usually when things charge it moves and says its charging like my cell. i just unhooked it and it wont let me turn it on. i dont know what to do... if i take it back to walmart will they give me a new one... or do i have to send it to the company ? has anyone had these problems? geez thanx in advance!

iPods are really screwy. I've had 3. First was faulty and I had to get a new one. The second one I had to have the harddrive replaced about 4 times, and then they replaced it with a new iPod video. I haven't had to get a new harddrive on my video, but all iPods freeze up. That's all it sounds like happened to yours. You need to restart your iPod when it does that.
First try again to hook it up to your computer or the wall.
Or try toggling the hold switch back and forth a couple times, then make sure the hold is turned off, then hold the menu and select button at the same time until it turns off and you see the apple screen appear. If something else appears other than the apple, there might be an error or something wrong with the harddrive. I got my first iPod from Sam's club or WalMart and we had to return it because it was faulty. If you can't restart it, take it to a Best Buy and see if they can try to fix it before you return it.
