Contact with ex girlfriend's child

Question Posted Friday May 29 2009, 5:33 pm

My ex boyfriend recently told me he would like to keep contact with his ex's child. This ex he dated 6 years ago and it has been over for a while. As weel, he only knew this child for 1 1/2 years. What is his mind set?

He probably got close to this child and became a father figure to him/her. A year and a half is a long time to know a child because they grow up so quickly in that period of time. Children also tend to latch on to the adults in their lives. Since the child knew him for a year and a half, I'm sure the he/she looked up to your boyfriend. It's hard to disappoint a kid like that by disappearing from their life completely.

I can see where this would make you very uncomfortable. But this is most likely his mindset at this point.
