Does anyone know how (anything, doesn't have to include products) to whiten one's skin/tan without using things containing hydroquonine?

AAAH WHY DO YOU WANT TO LIGHTEN YOU SKIN!? i have VERY white skin n its not very pretty, freckles easy, doesnt look good in the sun, not a good look. but what eva makes you happy i guess...
ive heard old stories that rubbing lemon juice on you skin lightens the pigments...
prob doesnt work bt worth a try=D
