laptop -- linksys

i recently bought a Linksys Internet card for my laptop and when I try to connect it, it gets to "creating a profile" n sits there forever searching..does this mean i dont have a signal where i am and i should move the computer? is there something else i can do? i really need access to my laptop because my desktop's screen is cracked and i cant read it =( PLEASE help ASAP. thanks

dude,

you probably need a wireless router as well.
try linksys wrt54gs
Or you have to go to an internet hotspot.

or just try to plug the land line (cable or dsl line) into it.
