Question Posted Monday January 23 2006, 6:18 pm

if you pierce your nose .. is it normal for it to be red 5 days after you do it. its not sore AT ALL .. and its not bumpy or anything .. its just a red circle thats on the right side of my nose (not just around the ring, but a bigger circle) .. it loooks like it did when i pierced my belly button .. but my friend (whos mad at me) is goin around tellin ppl my nose is infected .. but my friend sam who pierced her nose said it was red for a few weeks .. is my friend just tryin to piss me off .. or should i worry? .

thanks!

It could just be an irritated area but I would watch it closely if I were you. If the condition doesn't get better or gets worse with a few days I would have a medical professional look at it. Infections are no joke. In the mean time try to keep the area as clean as possible. Best wishes with your new(ish) piercing.
