Well..What I would do is give him a chance..you never know, you might end up in a great relationship. Or if it does'nt work out at least you can still be friends. Just give him a chance. Trust me. I have been in this situation before and I gave him a shot and he was a cool guy, but not the kind to go out with. But thats all I can say.
