Finger Nails Hurts

my Finger Nails hurt really bad after I take Nail Polish off of them. Its kinda like they are numb. Why is that? Thanks.

they aren`t used to the air on them...* i know what you mean. they are used to haveing that layer of polish protecting them from light && air. which is also a bad thing. you should keep polish off them for a few days.. and clean them really good. just give some time between polishes.!* x0x&hearts BARBiE

Same thing happens to me. If you always wear nail polish, your nails are used to haveing that little bit of extra weight on them. So, when you take it off, it's sort of trying to put that extra pressure on there to make it seem like there is nail polish still on your fingernails. It normally goes away when you put nail polish back on your nails, or after a few minutes.
