i took me a couple times reading it to understand it, so dont get mad if the answer isnt right for your situation cuz i was confused, but you should just go out with the guy after you made it clear to your old boyfriend that you dont like him like that anymore and you think you should just be friends. if he seems sad, annoyed, or acts you why youre going out with the guy then just talk to him so he really understands. he shouldnt have to stand in the way of your new relationship.
