MsAskMe answered Monday August 29 2005, 10:55 am: People mature at different rates. There is not a set age that someone should start having sex.
One must consider when they are ready. Most states have Statutory Rape laws. Anyone caught having sex with someone under 16 is charged with Statutory Rape, even if the "minor" has consented. Those states consider that someone under the age of 16 is not able to make rational decisions about committing sexual acts.
Please use protection when being intimate with someone. It is better to be careful now, than to look back and wonder why you did not take better measures to protect yourself. My best wishes to you in life.
