Where to paste your cursors, sidebars, and other codes you put them in your profile settings page in the little box near the bottom. you put them anywhere you want and it will show up in that area.

for layouts, you just go to column settings and there are 4 different kinds of designs for your column. to view them just click view or preview or whatever it says and if you like it you click use. then make sure you scroll to the bottom and save it. it will show up the next time you look at your profile in 'YOUR ADVICE COLUMN' or anywhere else.

if you have any more questions just ask and i will be happy to answer them.
hope i helped
