Before any talking with this guy, friendship comes first, unless u feel differently. Explain to her you like him, and the only reason you didnt tell her was because you thought about her feelings before your own. If she understands where your coming from and tells you its okay sincerly, and you believe it, and not just thinks she is saying it to be a good friend then go for it, if it turns out where she says she will never talk to you again type of situation, then just talk to this kid and let him know whats going on, and maybe when your friend is done crushing over him and has moved on to someone new, then it will be your chance to go for it.
