Terri Schiavo

Question Posted Tuesday March 22 2005, 1:50 pm

I live in Florida and the huge debate between if it is ethical or not to prolong the death of Terri Schiavo. I do undertans the concept of fighting over another person's life. Much less the idea of allowing her to starve to death. I have done research and I have found this on Terri Schiavo's condtion: " They are unresponsive to external stimuli, except, possibly, painful stimuli." ([Link](Mouse over link to see full location)). If there is a possibility that she could feel the pain why don't they allow her to pass without pain?? I want to understand the conept of this ethical debate so that I may fully understand the situation at hand.
