Question Posted Saturday December 18 2004, 3:58 pm

About two months ago, my boyfriend of 8 months bought me a beautiful diamond promise ring and about a week ago, I lost it... I just woke up one morning and found it missing from my finger. I searched my entire house, top to bottom. I even rented a metal detector to try and find it. I feel terrible about losing it. I know it must have cost him a fortune. I haven't told him that I've lost it yet. He just noticed I wasn't wearing it yesterday and asked me where it was. I didn't know how to tell him so I said I was cleaning it. My question for you guys is: how should I go about telling him that I lost it? I know he'll be upset with me no matter how I word it but any advice/suggestions would be helpful.

just tell him the truth. people lose things, and they cant help it. im sure you feel horrible, but its worse to lie about it. im sure you'll end up finding it somewhere! good luck!!!
