my heart is sooo friggen confused -- help!!!

Okay well I went out with this boy John for almost 9 months and he was my first true REAL love, and it was amazing but we faught and things happened and we broke up a few weeks ago. But i still talk to him and our hearts are still so attached and we want to be with eachother so bad, but all of my friends thinks that it would be the best thing for us to move on. SO we both have a new bf and gf, but we still love eachother so much and its weird :( I just want to be with him so bad but i need to move cuz it doesnt work, and no1 else thinks it does either.. we just love eachother so much.. Help me pleaseeeee
