I want to get involved in our church's praise team, but I'm afraid that it will be more about making my voice heard than really worshipping God. I've heard a lot of people say that I just need to keep my focus on God, but that's hard sometimes. How do I make it about God instead of me?
Now, answer number two is this. You need to think long and hard and pray about this along the grounds of this being your ministry. Is this your ministry? Who is it for? Is it for you? Is it for God?
Music can be your ministry, but just because something is a talent to you doesn't mean that it is a ministry. Do you have conviction (i.e. do you feel it would be almost a sin to you for you not to serve in this role)? Convictions are what drive us. If you feel convicted to do this, than you need to pray for humility and for a way for God to make this part of your life. But don't just pray......surrender it. His answer is always the right one.
