Well i know who this is, an i know what your going through, sometymes everything seems lyke its not right til your with that person, an then when you are given the chance to be with them you realize that you were more comfortable just being flirty friends. I think you should talk to your bf an ask him if he's felt the same way about that kind of thing, and if he has then maybe take a break, or juss overall be friends. Your old friend, was there ever anything between you guys, and if you got with him do you think you would be stuck in the same position you are in with your boyfriend now? its kay if you dont want to tell who the person is. buh think about all that an get back to me! hope i could help!!
