Need help to plan road trip

Question Posted Thursday March 4 2004, 1:11 pm

My friends and i are planning a road trip and we need advice on where to go. Everyone has a different idea and we can't agree. We can't leave the country because some of the people coming with us aren't exactly your perfect citizens. Where do you think we should go?

I will answer your question with another. Where are you from? If the United States, then which state? If you are in the United States of America, I may have some helpful advice for you!

You don't have to go very far to have a perfect vacation. Of course, you should mix some educational destinations in with fun ones. Stop by Six Flags, the grand canyon, or other national landmarks. Of course, if your "imperfect" friends can handle it, go to another state to a major party or festival. Many places in the south have many. They don't have to be as big as Marti Gras (although Louisiana is a fine place to go on a trip to), but they should be county-wide, at least. Also, I am not a big fan of the ocean myself (as I have only been to the dirty Gulf), but the beach can be a fine place to spend with party animals or conservative poets. Have a nighttime party/campout with your friends, with tiki-torches and whatnot. There are also lots of magnificent Indian ruins in the Southwest.

If you are not from the U.S.A., Europe (if this is where you reside) is a fascinating and historical place, so taking photos of old monuments probably isn't as exciting to you as it is to me. Go visit a concert. Or better yet, participate in one.

Most important of all, vehicle room can make or break a road trip. Rent, or find, a large van. The gas expense will more than make up for it.
