What are Negative Keywords in Digital Marketing?

Negative keywords are words or phrases that you add to your campaign to tell Google not to show your ads for certain searches. For example, if you're selling shoes, you might add the keyword "buy" as a negative keyword, so that your ad doesn't show up when someone searches for "buy shoes.

Negative keyword: Definition. ... For example, when you add "free" as a negative keyword to your campaign or ad group, you tell AdWords not to show your ad for any search containing the term "free." On the Display Network, your ad is less likely to appear on a site when your negative keywords match the site's content.
