Summer job in the US

Question Posted Tuesday June 18 2013, 1:28 pm

Hi all,

I'm currently a student in Europe, and I would really love to work from June to August in the US next summer. I was wondering if any of you currently living there were able to give me some information on this or even agencies/companies that offer summer jobs.

Any information would be much appreciated!

First there are summer jobs available to foreigners in the US. They are specific type jobs for which you must be qualified for. One such job is Lifeguards at pools and the Oceans. As there are more jobs than people to fill them.

To apply for any of these jobs, which there are agencies that specialize in placing people for these positions. You must first apply for a working VISA at the US Embassy in your Country.

The Embassy might be able to point you to one of the agencies who recruit for these jobs. Given the month we are in and the length of summer jobs you probably don't have any time to waste.

Not knowing how long it takes our Embassy to process an application for a working VISA you could be spending the summer at home waiting for the paperwork to clear.

It would be illegal to enter this country on a visitors VISA or visitor's entry status and apply for a job. If caught you could be deported and denied future entry for a long period of time or never again.
