Is 16 and 19 too big an age gap?

OK, I've been friends with this girl on social media for a few months, and am contemplating starting a long-distance relationship with her (I posted a question on here about it not so long ago), as we're in two different countries. The 2 of us are very similar people, with the same interests, and similar personalities. But one of the things that kind of puts me off starting a relationship is the age gap- I'm only 16, and she's 19. I'm not planning to do anything sexual or anything, but am just kind of worried that even if she is interested in me the same way I'm interested in her, that the age will throw her off. I talk to this girl a lot and get along well- and just from speaking to her on Instagram- I've realised we have a lot in common- we even came across each other via the same interest. I'd love to start a relationship with her- issue is, she's in a whole other country (she's American, whereas I'm in the UK), I've never actually personally met her, have spoken to her through Instagram Live though so know what she looks and sounds like (so I know she's not a catfish or anything) and also I thought long-distance relationships have some sort of connection to bad luck. This is my first time using this site; II live in Canada. Male. I am just getting over a bad breakup (only 2 days ago) with someone I was and still am in love with. However, a friend of mine has been helping me through this and whenever I talk to him I feel my face heat up a bit and I feel... strange?

I'm courting this girl that I've known since 1st year college (we're now in our 4th year)
And since our government issued a community quarantine we are just talking through messenger and sometimes I'll call her during the night.
But last week I felt that she's not interested in talking to me anymore. And I told her that it's hard to communicate to her these past few days. I am in my 30's and the guys in my generation are an absolute joke. Throughout my whole life I have been working on myself and have the worst of luck with guys. I’ve been with my boyfriend for 4 years and we are both 26. He moved to my state to be with me, we talk seriously about the future, and have considered moving in together. Hey there,
There is a lot to this, so please read if you can. I think it will help with answering this kind of question.
Basically, I'm 18 and a freshman in college. There is this guy I met last year that became a good friend of mine pretty quickly. He is still in high school, but he is 18 right now. He is in his senior year at the moment.
