How to avoid this annoying guy Posted Sunday January 7 2018, 4:17 am
OK, so I'm in a few classes with this guy, but I sit near him in my history class, and whenever I'm trying to do my work, he tries starting a conversation with me, usually about personal matters, like how hungover I was. I probably should have expected questions like that because I regrettably posted pictures of my drinking on social media. I had a drink called Magners, and he mocked me for it saying "Why did you have to drink the CHEAP Strongbow?" We all have different tastes and personally I don't think Strongbow would taste nice. Plus I don't come from the richest family in the world, and they probably thought Strongbow was too expensive (this was at a new year party). A lot of people made little digs at the alcohol situation b...

Blog Name Ideas Posted Tuesday December 19 2017, 1:26 pm
24/f
I have recently gone on a trip to Egypt and I was highly disappointed by what I have experienced. I have researched incidents that had happened to me to see if this was common, I have only found one blog that had stated the same thing with comments stating the same thing happened to other tourists/visitors.
Because of this, I have been inspired to create my own travel blog (to explain to readers what to REALLY expect, all pros & cons, not just pros). I have a history and reputation for being "brutally honest" with all things.
However, I was told starting a blog called "Brutally Honest" would probably scare away readers. I was hoping I could get some ideas here. Any ideas would help! Thank you!

Skincare Routine advice Posted Wednesday December 6 2017, 2:26 pm
Hello,
I am about a month shy of 24 years old, and i'm going to be really honest, I haven't been so kind to my skin through the years. I have a combination skin type so the cheeks are usually dry while my forehead, nose, and chin are oily. I do not wear much makeup but tend to try to purchase higher quality products for when I do. Basically I just try to avoid the bottom shelf foundation cause I know it has tons of gunk and nasty pore clogging stuff.
I never had acne as a teen until I started birth control at 16. Then at 18 I developed a subcutaneous cyst the size of a quarter which had to be cut and removed. Now I have this massive scar from that is almost where my natural smile line i,s but now my face loo...

Do cruise ports have layaways like airports? Posted Monday December 4 2017, 2:43 pm
This is a question that I'm generally curious about if you were to travel by sea. I've never actually travel in a cruise ship before but I do wonder if the process functions rather similarly to airport, when it comes to long trips and laaways.
Say that if you generally booked a destination to Location C from Port A, and this trip to Location C would be a very long journey within 1-2 days. You depart from Port A on the first day, but first the ship must also dock at Port B in between to drop off passengers destine for that Location.
Would a "layaway" be expected for a short time at Port B? If I were a passenger expected to get Location C, would I be able to hang outside of the ship for a while (befor...

Advicenators Column Posted Monday November 27 2017, 11:17 pm
Hi, I used to have an account on here but when I go to log in, I don't remember the password. Anyhow, I can still see my old column... but can you not access it after so long? I've tried to send the password using the old username & email but it's a no go... I haven't been on it for over a year, so is it forever inaccessible?
I thought it might be worth asking :/ thanks

Do You Think I Have Poor Self Esteem? Posted Friday November 24 2017, 4:05 am
I want to start by saying that part of this question is actually going to sound arrogant and I apologize for that, but here goes.
I grew up with a verbally abusive father who made me feel like a worthless piece of trash sometimes. I also went through a horrible awkward stage in middle school and my classmates made me feel like an ugly, disgusting monster. I've been called a POS, a pathetic excuse for a human being, a waste of perfectly good air and other things along those lines. I'm afraid that these problems have caused me to suffer terrible self esteem issues which have negatively affected my quality of life.
For example, when I was in high school, a counselor gave me an IQ test, but didn't tell me the resu...

Why are tall girls so angry Posted Wednesday November 22 2017, 2:00 pm
I'm a 14 year old girl whose 5 feet, and from my experience tall girls are always so angry and bitter. Well, not always, some tall girls are nice, but the majority of the time they are always trying to put short people, especially short girls, down and praising themselves to no end. They get so annoyed when guys like short girls and keep bitching about short girls "stealing" tall guys from them. Like I get you wanna date a guy taller than you but you can't just reserve them for yourself, lol...single guys are fair game. I don't understand why tall girls have to be so rude and bitter and bitchy. Why are they like this?

How do I dedicate my life to helping others? Posted Thursday October 5 2017, 9:09 pm
I'm MAJORLY clinically depressed. I'm very mentally disabled. I literally can't work or drive, because it gives me too much anxiety and stress, like if you could be in my mind for one second, you'd literally want to kill yourself. I can't even explain how horrible my anxiety and depression is every second of everyday. I've literally spent years trying to cure it, but it just all seems to get worse every single day.
I'm not trying to make it permanent in my mind that that's how I'll always be. I'm not sure, it's just how I feel because it's so bad.
I love to walk though. So I can walk a little ways to help people, but not much. I love the elderly with all my heart. I love animals and babies with all my heart as ...

Need some help moving forward in life/career Posted Thursday October 5 2017, 3:02 am
I will start this off by saying my life is kind of in shambles right now, but I think I've had a change in heart when it comes to education, but I have no direction on where to take my life.
I was formerly enrolled with DeVry University for computer science, but I've recently discovered that I think I want to grow plants for a living.
But not a farm, per se. I live in a rural area in southern Illinois where agriculture is pretty important. But what I really want to do is plant biology/botany, mostly herbalism and natural remedies, non-MD.
I've looked into some of the implications of 'practicing' herbalism without a medical degree. It's kind of vague, but for my own protection, I wouldnt want to make reme...

Recycling- Does my trash company actually recycle? Posted Sunday July 30 2017, 1:09 pm
So this question has been weighing on me ever since my mom and I talked last week. She happened to mention how bogus it was that when we were kids in public school, she claims we were "brain-washed" (rolling my eyes) by the system to partake in recycling programs, and yet when she gave in and signed our household up, she witnessed firsthand the crew take our blue bin and throw the sorted contents in with the rest of the trash and drive away. It got me thinking, I just moved and signed up for recycling, however you don't need to sort. I know we have technology that might do that for us, but it makes me suspicious coupled with the fact that theres only 1 garbage truck. What do they do with the bins contents, like where else do they ...

Not a lot of diversity in my book? Posted Friday July 14 2017, 8:58 pm
I'm a writer and I'm in the works of a novel I've been thinking about. I have finished my rough draft and I just realised I didnt really put a lot of diversity between characters. All of them are white. Diffrent shades, but still white. I've accidentally did this before and got called a racist because of it. I really like my characters present appearances, but I don't want to offend anyone. Should I go back and make one African American or Hispanic?

trying to find a movie Posted Friday June 23 2017, 10:52 pm
so I heard of this movie called Amreeka, some people were talking about it on Instagram and it seems like a good movie that I wanna watch. If you don't know what I am talking about, a simple google search will help. I could not find it on Netflix, and I can't find it online. I've only found it on one website and it was in German. I would really rather watch it for free online without having to pay for anything, or at least rent it for free on something like Amazon or Hulu. Any help?

"You're so young" I'm almost 30. Posted Thursday May 25 2017, 8:30 am
Hello. I'm 26 years old/female. I have a master's degree in education and working towards my second masters degree in school counseling. I am a full time elementary school teacher with experience in special education and ESL training. I have a second job teaching english to children in China online. I live on my own, have my own apartment and even help my mom. I receive no financial help from anyone. No one paid my way through school. Everything I have done has been on my own and I've had to work very hard to get to where I am today.
I'm 5 feet tall and have a petite stature. I have a young face simply because I have good genes. It also helps that I don't really drink or smoke. Due to my held religious beliefs, I don't reall...

Just Complainging About a Players in my Tabletop RPG Posted Monday May 22 2017, 6:22 pm
This is not really a question. I just want to have someone hear me bitch and talking to the people close to me could cause problems.
So I am GMing a tabletop RPG, and currently, I have one troublesome player, Lance. I have made the mistake of complaining about him to one or two of the other players. This is a bad thing to do because it makes the other players more aware of Lance's attitude and can turn the whole group against him. This is not what I want. I want everyone to have a good time, including Lance.
A little background info, we are playing Vampire the Requiem. I have made a few small chances to how exp is rewarded but other than that we are following the core rules. Before char creation I explained my ...

Europeans hate gypsies-why? Posted Tuesday May 16 2017, 8:05 pm
I know that not all Europeans hate the Romani gypsies, but I've met plenty and have yet to meet 1 who has a somewhat decent opinion of them. I'm not European, I am an Arab American. I haven't met many in my life, just caught glimpses of them selling things on the side of the road and when I go to Syria (before the civil war) there are a few here and there selling things and performing. Remember once a gypsy family moved next to my house, they were awful. Fought everyone and everything, wrecked havoc, their children acted like assholes, stole literally anything, drank, partied every night. But I figured I just had a bad run in, and their behaviour had nothing to do with their ethnicity. I notice coming from Europeans that while the continent...
