My Family Won't Let Me Move Out!

I'm 18 years old and my friend suggested that I move in with her while I finish school. I wanted to because my family constantly yells at me and brings up mistakes in the past that I've made for something even as simple as not being allowed to date. I have calmly approached my mother, and several other members of my family about this (my siblings are all 25+ and haven't dated or left home, besides one who moved out years ago.) and they, especially my mother, just blow up and yell at me without listening. I've known this friend for over eight years and trust her and her family. My mother said one reason I'm 'not allowed' to go is that she can't keep track of what I'm doing and when I said I could tell her every day, she just got mad and said...

I really need help. Recently me and my brother were drinking. Don't worry. We are both over age. Lets say we both got really drunk. So I live my mom, and we've been having problems. Well, it's me that has the problem. My mom refuses to talk to me about something I'm not comfortable with. She brought back her ex-boyfriend, for no logical reason. He has done so many bad things to us and I can't understand it. She refuses to talk to me about how I feel, and get's super defensive when I try to talk to her about it. I can't stay with them, but I have no way to get out of the home. She doesn't care for my feelings, like a parent should. What can I do?

Parents ruining summer vacation and social life?

So I'm just writing this because I'm getting a little irritated right now, my parents basically ruined my social life while I was in high school because they never let me go out anywhere it was to the point where people just stopped inviting me cause they knew the answer. I remember in grade 10 a girl asked me if I ever leave the house cause she has never heard people mention my name at social gatherings or whatever (stupid I know). Finally grade 11&12 they started being a little more lenient and let me go out sometimes by sometimes I mean once a month. I have recently started suspecting that my mother may in fact be a narcissist. As I researched the subject further,it all started to make sense. It was now clear why she only acknowledges me if I do something that could be labeled as a success. Why she always yelled at me when I got sick,saying I was a burden to her then later apologized and said she was only worried about me. Why she twists my words and makes me feel like I don't even know what I'm saying. The list goes on...
She has even gone so far to demonize my boyfriend who she NEVER even met. She claims she did this because he is not worthy of me (as her arguments she used that he doesn't have a PhD,he is not rich nor exceptionally handsome.)

persuasion techniques that work on parents?

I am 13 and my grandma bought all her grandkids season passes to a local amusement park 1 hour away for my family 2-3 for the rest of my family and I cant get my parents to take me there are free passes that come with the season passes so money isn't a problem ways to persuade my parents to take me.

Both answers had good points. I liked your response. I gave her a graduation party last weekend. My two nieces were here and they basically helped me clean up etc. the following day I brought the cards out and said we could go through them. She immediately got defensive and said....I don't want you hovering over me like you did nathan ( my step son) I didnt want you to see what I got. How much authority should I have as a stepmother? I ask this because I am the stepmother of a 15 year old boy. My husband (his dad) just got sole custody of him. (He alone because I was home with our newborn daughter). My husband has had me make major decisions concerning my stepson's health, education etc. He works long hours and for the most part, I am the one pretty much taking care of my stepson. Recently my stepson had a bad fracture to his ankle while playing ball. I was the one who took him to the hospital, signed his medical forms, etc. His mother found out and naturally got mad. Step daughter complains about me to her dad

I'm so tired of this. No matter what I do my step daughter goes and complains to my husband. I was cleaning some cupboards and my step daughter had 10 + water bottles cluttering up this cabinet. I removed them and put them in her room with a note asking her to go through them. She goes and complains....my feelings are hurt....I don't feel like she wants me here.....then my husband is down on me saying YOU act like you don't want "us" here! I've asked her that if she has a problem with things that I say or do to come and talk to me. She never does. She goes to "daddy" and it's not like she's a kid....she's 19 for Pete's sake. Worried about mother who stresses

Hey, so my parents are divorced, and have been for about 8 years.
My mother doesn't seem ok. She doesn't have a full time job, and hasn't for about 2 years. However, she works at a supermarket about 3-4 times a week for about 4 hrs each time.
She is currently doing an online course, which seems to be taking her about 2 years. She is a bit of a perfectionist, so it takes her a bit longer than expected to submit work in, but she recieves really good marks for her hard work. She studies a lot during the days.

i'm from india. I do have the most uncaring parents in the world. They don't care about my emotions. My father always keeps snooping around my things and then there are the questions like, "who's this boy?" or "why do you have so many male friends?" and they really frustrate me. My mom never supports me; they both expect me to spend my days in studies and STUDIES ONLY. If i've to buy a top for myself, its mom who's going to choose the color and design and everything. I don't get along with either of my parents and never have. I have a lot of friends who have absent or distant fathers and in return have wonderfully nurturing relationships with their mothers. Then a couple of my friends have crazy, strict, militant mothers like mine, and turn to their fathers for emotional warmth. I've never felt like I could turn to either of my parents for support. I am 20 from and currently pursuing my Engineering. I have 2 more years to complete Masters so i live off my parents' money. My Parents especially dad are what you say "perfectionist". Twin is lonely-how can I help?

I'm 20/f and I'm worried about my twin sister.
She has had a really bad year in terms of losing different jobs for different reasons and also she doesn't seem to be able to make and keep up with friends.
We're turning 21 next week and having a meal out . I've invited mu friends from uni and the one friend my twin has can not come because it's too late for her to get home. So she won't have any friends there.
We're both pretty shy but I've learnt to come out of my shell since being at uni. She has also lived away from home at a different uni and has struggled to make any friends.
I think it's because when we were growing up I was always the one who made friends with people and she'd just tag along.

Get money for uni with a job, or meet great grandma for 1st time in Italy

So, I'm going to univeristy for the first time this September. My parents want me to go out and get a job for the summer to save up money. My grandparents also want me to go to Italy with them this summer to visit my great grandmother. I've never seen my great grandmother before, and apparently she wants to meet her only great grandchild she hasn't seen before. My grandparents want to pay for my plane ticket, but that's expensive, and I can't let her do that. What should I do?
