Well, it doesn't seem too fair for him to hold you up to a standard that he himself doesn't adhere to. Unless he breaks up with his girlfriend quickly, it seems to me like he is really jerking you around, and you don't deserve that.

To start off, I'm a guy in college. I have easily had 15 crushes in my life (one one true relationship) and I can usually talk to the girl even though I'm really shy. But this girl in one of my classes has the most beautiful smile and I am extremely attracted to her. Like more than any other crush I've ever had. She is always looking over in my direction, and at first I didn't think it was at me, but today we made pretty brief eye contact. So I think she may be looking at me. But I am just so amazed by her or something that everytime after class, I get cold feet and can't get up the nerve to talk to her. I have even seen her coming down the hall twice, and I freak out so much I can't look her in the eye and smile. I know I'll regret it forever if I dont talk to her, so is there anyway for me to get up the confidence to just go talk to her? I dont really have the opportunity to leave a note so that way is out of the question. Sorry its soo long but I need help, this is killing me that I can't do this. Thanks (link)

Your situation sounds almost exactly like mine, except I am the girl. I am only a freshman (in high school) however, and the kid is in my foreign language class.
The way you were saying how the girl was staring at you, it is very likely that she is attracted to you. I always steal glances at the boy I like, and once in a while, we meet eyes.
In the hall, she probably is deciding, just like you, whether or not to say hello. Building up courage for that kind of thing can be hard, but if you are able, it will hopefully pay off, because it really sounds like this girl likes you.
The same things happen to me. I always pass by my crush and have an explosion in my brain as I try to decided whether or not to say hi or not.
Best of luck.
