my moms best friends son is 14/m (hes going into 9th grade) and we went to dinner with them tonight and he was really quiet and while all the adults were talking and all the kids were running around he picked up his knife and started kinda sawing at the back of his hand and the second he saw that i saw what he was doing, he stopped. and later that night he asked if he could walk home to practice his guitar before they all got home (we are neighbors and we all live close to where we were having dinner but not close enough that most people would walk home right before a big thunderstorm) and when his dad said that they were all going home anyway he looked kind of mad. so i guess i have two questions, can you cut the back of your hand (like cutting suicide wise) and should i be worried about him like what should i do
please answer me really soon because if something happened we would all be heartbroken
and p.s. his mom said that he was never upfront snotty, but he never likes going places with his family and stuff and that he was doing well that night. does that mean anything?
sorry, this is a stupid question but i'm just worried about him!

Yes, I suppose you could cut on the back of your hand. You might not have seen anything, but just in case, you should ask a councilor at your school or something. Ask them what you should do, just in case and if you feel comfortable telling your mom, do so. They need to make sure that nothing is going on. Even if it's nothing, it's better to know, than find out after something terrible has happened.

I recently asked the question about how my guy friend and his girl broke up and how I wanted to be there for him. Well he asked me to help, and today I tried to talk to him about it. I said do you and her now have an undertanding? he was like yea. I said so are you ok? and he goes it sucks but I'll live.. I have to go. Then leaves. What the hell? Im trying to help like he asked me to and then he leaves? Whats his problem? Should I leave him alone or say something? (link)

Even though he asked for help, he may need you there for support, not to talk about the problem, but just to be friends with him. Maybe he didn't want to talk about it, maybe he's not ready. Just be there for him and when he wants to talk about it, he'll tell you.

so u might have remembered me bcuz i asked about the girl who i called "summer".
now she knows we all hate her and shes acting all innocent! and shes totally not and it really bugs me. shes mean and talks about everyone behind there back. and now shes all goody-goody bcuz we all hate her. i mean WHAT THE ****!! and today she goes "why does everyone hate me?" and i just shook my head and walked off. i mean is she really that stupid? please help!

trust me, I know people like that. There's this one girl that towards me, she's all nice and innocent(kinda), but behind my back she's constantly calling me a bitch and bad talking me to my friends. Just tell her to get a life and a new personality. Or even play into her dumbness and just go, "we don't hate you." Then when she walks up,have everyone act like she's not there. No one acknowledge her existence and she'll get mad or even upset. Good Luck with that.
