hi my names Diamond, I just made the volley ball team and we lost our first game. so today we had our second game and we also lost. so when i was gettin dressed in the locker room the captain markeisha just came out of no where and said "i know why we lost. We lost because Diamond and angel suck." Then she said "yea i said it because everyone knows it they just dont have enough guts to say it" Well...angels my best friend, but i though i did really good because i served perfectly and most of the time the ball didnt come to me.Then she looked at me and angel and said "if you got a problem with me then come to my face and say it right now" but i didnt because i hate fighting. Im an honor student and to me its not right. but anyways.. my friend kelly said "you cant talk about people like that. I dont know who you think you are because they were good." and Markeisha got all in her face yelling and stuff but one of makiesha's friends grabbed markiesha and told her not to be fighting. But my feelings are really hurt because she said it in front of everyone and i thought i did good. If i wasnt doing good why would my coach never switch me out with anyone. I'm nurvous to go to school tomarrow. Please help me as soon as possible! (link)

Diamond, it sounds like Markeisha is jealous of you and your friend Angel. Making comments like that is not what the team needs and if you played well like you think you did, then her comments have no merit. She is trying to tear you down to make herself feel/look better. Don't be intimidated! Ignore her and keep playing your best. Sounds like the rest of the team saw right through her. Good luck this season!

We have a valentine's day/ semi-formal every year. I really want this guy to ask me. His locker is 3 over from mine and he is in 3 of my classes. We're friends, but I have caught him looking at me in class. I really don't want to ask him, because, as he is really popular, he is ALWAYS surrounded by his guy friends. I always mean to mention the semi- formal, but chicken out. How should I get him to ask me out? It's in two weeks. (link)

First find out if he is already going with someone, either through friends or ask him directly. If you ask him directly and he says no, then hopefully a light bulb will go on and he will think to ask you. If he doesn't have a date but he doesn't ask you, be bold and ask him. He will be flattered, especially if he is already interested in you which sounds like he is. One thing I regret about high school is not being more direct and confident. Good luck!
