Q: he doesn't notice me. i'm his best friend, yet, im not there when it comes to relationships. i like him. "he" is spencer. i've known him probably forever. hes so easy to talk to, and yet, when i like him, which i have off and on, i trip up things. i say things i soon regret, and i act weird.. so he knows. but then the attraction goes away.. disappears. after that, its like he loves me-- but not in that same way. he loves my company, me being there. but not in a relationship. this has been going on for as long as i can remember.

sometimes we hang out. we walk home the same way almost everyday, so we talk a lot.
sometimes i hang out and watch TV with him.
sometimes i talk to his mom.
we act like best friends.

he's never had a girlfriend.
i've had 5 boyfriends.

we hug.
we laugh.
we smile.

i want him to ask me out.
i need him to ask me out.
i have no clue how to get him to ask me out.

we have a dance coming up soon.
a black and white ball.
he's not one for any school functions, really.
but, he said he might ask someone.

he didn't really tell me.
no, let me rephrase that.
he didn't tell me at all.
just
"i might ask someone to the dance"
then i changed the subject;
i didn't really want to hear it.

but,
the real question is...
how can i find out, with out dropping hints that i like him, AGAIN?
how can i gain his attention?
will i ever get the one guy i've liked since 2nd grade?

It sounds like to me you already have his attention,
he is just a very shy person.
This could be the reason he wont ask you out.
Its not that he dont like you more than a friend,
Its the fact that he doesnt want to lose a bestfriend if it doesnt work out.
As far as the ball goes, thats a tough situation.
Maybe ask around, see if he is going with anyone.
but i would go for it, u could say u want to go as "friends"

Q: Ok well im moving to Montreal, Quebec this tuesday from Fredericton N.B.Im a 14/m, I have hundreds of freinds, including one who I want to make more then a freind, but that is going to get fucked over! I almost started crying in class because im going to miss my freinds, and I'm afraid if and when I come back im going to be replaced by all my relly good freinds. How do I deal with this?

simple.
basically everyone has myspace or a phone.
keep in touch by calling them.
those who are ur real true friends wont replace u.
as for the one you want more than a friend.
that will be the toughest,
i say move on... if you have that many friends
your most likely going to have tons were ever you go. you might even try some visits to ur friends houses in the summer and spring breaks.

Q: so i have this friend that i used to be really close too. but niw it seema that we are drifting apart. is there anything i can do about that? i dont want to lose her. she means the world to me. . . . .and ideas will help. thanks

i agree, try having a once maybe twice a month sleep over.
just the two of you, look back on old memories that made u laugh, maybe some that made u cry.
you can also try calling her more often, or planing to do other things.
