Q: Alright, to indicate a small history. I have a good friend, you could almost say we used to be best friends. Recently I've been falling for him. We've hung out a few times and I could see some hints but I could just be fooling myself. We are going to prom together, as friends [he is in grade 10 and i am in 12]. I've decided that I am going to tell him, but I don't know when or how. My question to you is:
Do you think it would be corny to use Valentine's Day as an excuse to tell him I like him? If not..Any ideas?

Well, I am goign to start off by saying that you have had quite a few chances to prouve yourself to this guy. You need to take matters into consideration when in situations like these. Next time your alone, or in a group of poeple at a dance where they CAN'T hear what you guys are talking about, mention it to him. If he says nothing or looks kind of startled, make a joke out if it but DON'T say "Just Kidding" because that's just mean and what if he DID like you and was just trying to figure out a way to respond, then he may feel like "Wow, that could have been embarassing" and he may never say anything about it again, backfiring on your plan.
As for the Valentine's Day theory, yes I think it is corny because of the numerous centries of love stories. But if you can do something original and creative with it; Go for it!
