I just got a job at Subway and i start monday for training but im extreamly nervous. Its my first job. Has anyone ever worked at subway and peraps give me a few tips for working there? Thanks!!!!!! (link)
i currently work at subway, and it's my first job. i just got it as a summer job and i'm going to leave it pretty soon since school starts in a month, but i'll give you some pointers:

try to NEVER touch your clothes/face/hair/etc while you're making a sandwich and you have your gloves on. i have seriously gotten yelled at by old ladies who have seen me push my bangs out of my eyes or something and say it was "unsanitary". and they can sometimes not be so nice about it, so it makes you feel really badly. for the most part, however, customers are really nice and friendly.

if you are working with another person or two and a big line comes, try doing an assembly line- one person does meats & cheese, once person does veggies, and one person rings it all up on the cash register. if there are only one or two people in line, however, it's fine if you make the whole sandwich and ring them up.

also, try to be really careful with giving and receiving money. i know my boss gets mad if we are more than a dollar under in the drawer (you count down the drawer at the end of your shift and see how short you are and stuff). i know one girl was once short like 25 dollars and the boss was really, really mad at her.

other than that, it's really not too hard. hopefully you will have good coworkers. usually the ones who are in high school and college are the most fun to work with because when it's slow, you have stuff to talk about with them.

oh, and get someone to show you how to cut the bread right. it took me like a week to figure it out because no one really showed me. it takes a couple tries to really get the hang of it.

good luck! =]

i break out alot, and i ALWAYS have pimples on my face. it's usually on my forehead, and i have bangs that go across my face. i never get to wear my bangs up, for i don't want people to see my acne.

i have used a variety of acne products, and havn't seen much of an improvement. i've used clean&clear fomaing facial cleanser, oxy daily cleansing pads, clearasil acne treament cream, and rareminerals blemish therapy. (i do not use them all at once. i know using more than one treatment can dry the skin and cause more breakouts.)

if anyone has any product suggestions, please tell me. and please don't recommend proactiv. i don't want to purchase any expensive products. the rareminerals blemish therapy was $20 or a tinytiny thing. and it did NOT work. (link)
i have the same problem as you (i break out on my forehead and nose, and i have bangs), so about a week or two ago i finally went to the dermatologist after 3 years of suffering with my acne. they said that since i'm a teenager, our medical insurance DOES cover acne prescriptions. i got this stuff called retin-a and it has been working really well so far and my face has almost cleared up. i think in another week or two it will be completely clear. so my recommendation to you is that if you can afford the...i believe it's called the co-payment on your prescription...then i would recommend doing that and getting the stronger stuff that you can only get from a doctor.

if you don't want to go that route, then i recommend buying the wave cleaner (it's that pink vibrating thing that comes with attachable pads). you can get it at walmart or cvs. i was using that before i went to the dermatologist and it was working better than most acne washes i have tried. just do that and follow it up with lotion and then some type of acne cream that has like salicylic acid in it or something. i still recommend a dermatologist the most, however.

hope that helps a little! =]

does anyone know how to slow a horse at the canter? I have an appendix quarter horse, and i ride hunt seat. He goes really fast at the canter, and i try to sit back and not dig my heels into him, but its harder to stay on. Any tips? thanks :] (link)
i'm assuming you've tried basic half-halts, and those aren't working. you could try bringing your horse into the canter, but if he sped up at all bringing him back down to the trot. that way, you'd be showing him that he has to either go your speed at the canter or he won't get to canter at all. also, try working in a smaller arena at first-that way your horse won't feel so "free" and have a greater urge to go.
staying relaxed is also a big thing with fast horses. sometimes people tense up when their horses speed up or feel out of control (not saying you do, i haven't seen you ride or anything), and this makes the horse go even faster. try relaxing and moving with your horses canter as much as you can, and don't keep constant pressure on the reins. half halting works much better.
hope that helps a little =]
you could also try talking to a riding instructor about this. they always seem to work miracles with my riding problems.

I go to a secondary school and i have been there since 7th grade. I am fed up with it and i decided i want to go to a catholic high school. What is it like? Please give me the details. The school I am going to is brand new so the cliques aren't established yet. Also, there is only going to be a 9th grade and 10th grade. (they are gonna add on a year as everybody gets older) Please be as detailed as you can! Thanks :) (link)
hi,
i'm about to finish my junior year at a catholic school and next year i'll be a senior.
personally, i like my school because it's private, and therefore the teachers are better than my local public school. we attend mass once a month (your school might go more or less), prayers are recited over the announcements in the morning and afternoon, and we must take a religion class. all in all, it's not too bad, even if you're not catholic (like me). i hope you like uniforms, though, because i think like 99% of catholic schools have them. they're not too bad because at least you don't have to worry about your outfit every morning, but they do get pretty boring. try spicing up your uniform if you can by wearing cute shoes, cute jewelry, and ribbons and headbands in your hair.
hope that helps a bit. =]

ok so people told me that all 3 of the presidential candidates are Christian but (not trying to offend anyone here) how can you be a Democrat and a Christian?? Democrats are for stem cell research (using developing babies for science!! thus killing them, etc.) and they are for abortion (basically murdering a baby) and they are ok with gay unions and marriages and such. i mean those things definitely go against God!! its right there in the Bible!! im NOT trying to offend im just truly puzzled by how they can support this when it is so clearly not the wish of God. thank you :) (link)
people have already commented on the issues you brought up on your post, so i won't reiterate their comments. what i do want to mention, however, is the fact that the bible also states very clearly that we need to help the poor, the less fortunate, the needy. jesus says this and demonstrates it throughout the new testament, right? democrats very often try to pass bills through congress to help the poor. for example, democrats often try to tax really rich people with lots of money so that they can relieve the stress on the poor people by lowering their taxes. the rich still remain really rich and can still afford their luxuries, but for the poor this can mean a house or a car.
therefore, even if you don't agree with some social beliefs of the democrats, you can see how they try and help the needy.
hope that helps a little =]

haha, ok maybe fierce isn't the word i'm looking for. well, i'm looking for a song that's tough, like, you don't need anyone/any guy or anything. just wondering, i don't have anything in mind, but i can't think of any songs like that at the moment. however, i was looking for something a little like rock/soft rock? if not, its cool, im into a ton of different varieties. (link)
someone already said it, but when i read your question i totally thought of "misery business" by paramore. that song can get you SO pumped up and you feel like you can take anything on!
anything by angels and airwaves is also great, especially "everything's magic".
:]

Does anyone know any good books similiar to the twilight series? I like fictional books with some "paranormal" aspect but nothing thats too over the edge in the fantasy section.

Some people reccomend A Great and Terrible Beauty, anyone here know if its worth the read?

thanks so much! (link)
i love twilight too! it's amazing. i know some books that aren't exactly like twilight, but that are still good.
Gone With the Wind is a GREAT classic.
Interview with a Vampire has the whole vampire aspect.
sarah dessen's books are about teenage romance. i recommend "this lullaby".
the Dark Tower series are packed with adeventure.
umm philip pullman's series His Dark Materials is another adventure series.

Hope at least one of these interests you, and happy reading! :]

My hair is about shoulder length, very fine, and pretty curly. Towards the bottom layer of my hair, closer to the neck, my hair forms perfect, shiny ringlets. But the top layer is really inconsistent, with waves and curls randomly in the same strand of hair. I don't like the way that it looks drying naturally (I get triangle hair), and when I use a diffuser, my hair gets a really weird inch or so on the part that's perfectly straight, but the rest looks okay. How can I get a consistent curl all over my head, and maybe more volume towards the scalp without damaging my hair?! (link)
i have similar hair except it longer, like a little more than halfway down my back.
what i do for my top layers (for some reason they curl less than the bottom layers) is i take a 1 inch barrel curling iron (you could try less or more depending on how loose or tight your curls are) and then gently curling the curls that aren't defined enough. after doing this, rake your fingers through the curls as they are cooling so they look natural and not too "styled".
you can get a curling iron at a store like walmart for about $15 (mine's conair and it works great).
hope that helps a little! :]

I've been with my bf for almost 2 years, and he makes me sooo happy. I lost my virginity to him, and he's my first love. I knew his previous girlfriend really well and she told me every detail about their relationship. They never had sex but they did other things... if you know what i mean... She was his first love, and i was the one who comforted him when they split up. But now we're together and i still get upset when i think about him with her. I know its natural to be like that with your bfs ex, but i cant help but cry when i think about him being in love with her, and although he says he doesnt still think about her i know he does.

Is anyone else going through this? or do you know any ways i can try to get her out of my head. It doesnt affect our relationship, but when i'm on my own it plays on my mind...

Thank You in Advance xx (link)
i'm kind of in a similar situation. i've been dating my boyfriend for about a year now, and he's in college but i'm still in high school. his first serious girlfriend goes to my school, and so i know that he never sees her anymore, but i still do.
him and i were best friends before we were dating, and we were best friends while he dated this other girl. i remember one night on AIM he told me he thought he loved this girl, and i didn't really care at the time since we were just friends. however, now that we're dating i sometimes still think about him saying that and it makes me really upset. i'm kind of jealous of this girl for being his first serious relationship, but i've been thinking about it different recently. since your boyfriend is now dating you and loves you a lot, you can look at it in the positive note of "well, since he had this experience with another girl, i know that since he's been with me for so long that he means it very sincerely with me". like, he knows that he really IS in love with you, since he's had feelings for another girl. i hate it when people have been dating for like 1 month and think they're so in love, when really it's not love. idk if any of that made much sense, but now that he knows what love really is, he must want the real thing, and you're the real thing for him.
hope that helps a little and that you're not alone :)
