I've been on Depo now for a little over a month. I'm just wondering how long most people experienced the supposed "irregular periods"? I have been on my period now for 30+ days. I feel tired and groggy. It's not just some light spotting the way my doctor told me. It's been constant flow. YUCK! (link)
I had the same problem on depo. My doctor said it may take two to three shots for the bleeding to stop but I had my period for 90 days before they took me off of it. Look into the nuva ring. It's the same hormones but they are released slower since they are right in the area you need them. I've been on the nuva ring for almost a year now and I love it.

I hope I helped. :)

okay, so I've been dating my bf for a while... like 7 months going on 8 in a few weeks and he and i have talked about sex, I want to get birth control, that way i can be responsible and not get preggo, I mean I'm 17 i should have it by now right? my bf and i want to wait until i'm 18, but i want it just in case you know? So how do i ask my mom to help me get it? she and i have talked about it before and i just want to bring it up again, but i dont want to seem like i'm having sex at this point in time... which i'm not... he and i are still both virgins... how do i ask my mother to help me? (link)
I went through the same issue when I was 17, I was with the same guy for two years at the time (we're still together now). I told her that we have talked about taking the next step and we wanted to wait until we're both 18 but I wanted to be on birth control just in case. I also explained that I have put a lot of thought into ways to prevent pregnancy and that we wouldn't just be relying on birth control. After this she told me I was being very responsible and helped me get birth control.

You have to keep in mind that you have to take the pill at the same time everyday for it to work the best. You also can't take most antibiotics while you're on it or it makes it less effective. Do your research and find out which one is right for you.
