Hola.
I'm Miranda.
I love music. My favourite bands are Led Zeppelin, The Who, Bad Religion, Green Day, Anti-Flag, the Police, The Jam, Oasis, The Clash. I like a lot of different kinds of music; Acid rock, punk rock, classic rock, 60's and 70's rock, metal, Brit Pop, Reggae, ska, Maximum R&B. Not rap and hip hop!
I am liberal. Tree hugger XD
I am in love with the 60's! Everything back then impacted people. even the music affect people's lives. I love the hippie movement, i love the mod movement, i like the music from both sub-cultures.

Peace, Love and Rock 'n' Roll.

what are some different bands that aren't really heard about that much? i like bands like brand new and manchester orchestra -but i'm not too picky. i like indie, screamo, expiremental, etc. (anything really) any others that not every body has heard every song by them yet? that'd be great!
ps. i've tried to look around and not really much luck. (link)
Crass - total punk
Lily Allen - shes like ska pop rock indie, she has really funny and witty lyrics.
The Jam - an older band but still awesome, mod revivalist/punk/new wave from the 70's and 80's. In the UK the jam is legend, but becuase they are so rooted in british culture they never made it in the US so not many people will know them here. But they stilla re awesome.
Jem - rock indie pop, shes awesome
The Subways - not totally unknown but not super famous either, they are like rock indie

Hey guys! Well, I'm a HUGE HUGE HUGE Queen/Beatles/Led Zeppelin and Elton John fan. Does anyone know any other good bands like them? Like general oldies stuff. I've heard of many...But I just don't know the right ones to choose. :) Thanks in advance. (link)
Try The Who, they are brilliant, hard rock, and just fecking awesome. The who made the first rock opera, Tommy, an absolutely awesome rock album. Also Quadrophenia is like essential to teenagers feeling out of place and at a loss, even if they aren't mod like the main character of that rock opera. Keith moon is one of the best drummers ever. Pete Townshend(guitar) is a genious. John Entwistle(bass) revolutionized bass playing. and Roger Daltrey is an amazing front man. the point of that whole thing? The who rock.
The Rolling Stones - almost the most classic rock band, and awesome.
Jimi Hendrix, well Hendrix is the best guitar player in rock history. He could play with his teeth!
The Police, an awesome fusion of rock and reggae. Awesome drumming too.
The Ramones, the original punk rockers. Not classic rock, but they are milestones in rock, and they rule. Short fun songs, but the more you listen to the ramones you discover the complexity of them.
The Jam, a Mod revivalist/punk/new wave band from the 70's. The Jam never reached famousness in the USA because they were to firmly British, (the whole mod thing) but they are still awesome, and Paul Weller(lead singer and guitar) is a legend in England and for good reason.
David Bowie changed genres to much to classify him into one genre of music but he is awesome.
Bob Dylan, counter culture hero! Hippie folk rock, 'Like a Rolling Stone' is the number one song of all time according to Rollin Stone Magazine. He is amazing and essential.

There are so many more bands, but those are my favourite. Hope i helped. ROCK ON!

I straighten my hair like everyday..and i know that is VERY damaging on my hair...but it doesnt look good any other way besides a messy bun. i use a cream on my hair before i straighten it but its really for use when blowdrying your hair. I just apply it when wet, let my hair dry overnight, then straigthen it and leave it for 2-3 days. it seems to be working okay, but idk. Anyway i'm looking for great styling products for when straightening my hair and the prices. Also, any tips from anyone on how to keep my hair healthyy!! (link)
if you aren't already, use a straightener with ceramic plates. like a chi straightener. they are kinda expensive [100-200 dollars] but its deffinatly worth it. these good quality ones dont damage your hair and straighten it way better than cheapo ones.

Does anyone know of some artist that used drugs while they wrote or played music?I don't mean that as in during a period when they did drugs,I mean literally were on them while they wrote.

(link)
Jimi Hendrix - Purple Haze is about drugs.
The Beatles Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. It stands for LSD
Janis Joplin - acid queen
Pink Floyd
The Rolling Stones

Really any 60's acid psychedelic rock band

would you call the greatest in the world if you absolutely had too? Base it on quality of the music, showmanship, and their overall influence. Also say why you chose them:

-Led Zeppelin
-The Beatles
-AC/DC
-The Rolling Stones
-The Doors
-Metallica
-Pink Floyd
-Nirvana
-The Jimi Hendrix Experience

(link)
Either The Beatles Or Led Zeppelin.

The Beatles were so incredibly influential. They did almost everything first. They also had a wide variety of music. From the mod days in the beginning to the psychedelic acid rock days later.

Led Zeppelin is probably the best rock band ever. Jimmy Page Pioneered recording the ambient sound of music and not just the up close immediate sound. Thats how the drum sound in When the Levee Breaks was achieved. Jimmy Page is a guitar god! He was and still is so incredibly talented. His solos are incredible, music orgasm. John Paul Jones revolutionized bass playing. He set the standard of bass playing. Everyone else did what he started. Bonzo was an absolutely amazing drummer! Listen to his drum solos i mean come on! And theres Robert Plant, amazing voice, amazing rock persona, amazing hair, amazing in general.

Personally i'd say Led Zeppelin is the greatest in the world, but the Beatles are up there because they were first in almost everything.

i'm looking for some new bands, any good ones?
i listen to bands like sublime, slightly stoopid, bob marley, jack johnson, matisyahu, ub40, 311.

thanks. (link)
You might like the Police. Reggaeish Skaish rock.

does anyone knoes some good rock songs to listen to when your pissed? i dont like too much screaming but a little bit is okay. (link)
Turn the volume up and listen to:
AC/DC - either Hells Bells or Back in Black
Black Sabbath - Iron Man
Nirvana - Smells like Teen Spirit
The Offspring - Long Way Home
The Ramones - I wanna Be sedated or R.A.M.O.N.E.S
Rise Against

This is for anyone who truly considers themself punk, no one who isn't.

I'm kind of interested in starting to listen to punk music but I have no idea where to start. What are some good punk groups? But true punk, not poser bands at all. And if you could kind of stay away from any band that frequents pop music radio stations, that would be great. (link)
The Ramones
The Sex Pistols
Dead Kennedys
Old Green Day
The Clash
Bad Religion
Anti-Flag
Stiff Little Fingers
Iggy Pop
The Jam(the jam is actually a mod revivalist band but they are considered punk and mod)
Operation Ivy
Nofx
Patti Smith
Rancid
