I'm a musician and a writer, and most people label me as a hippie (I'm against labeling in most senses). I use musician and writer loosely, and many people can back that statement up.
I will not answer sex questions. So don't even ask. I will, however, answer questions about relationships (at a PG level), writing, music, and my opinions on pop culture and the like. Now then, for the fair warning stuff:
-I am a classic rock fan. There's not much "modern" music that I like, although I do enjoy some modern rock bands. However, I'm not a huge rap fan. Or country. Really I'm just a rock fan, though I'll "try" to be open minded.
-I'm very much into humor and trying to be funny. I love watching comedies, stand up, and writing funny fluff. I'm also sarcastic, so that's just a heads up for any responses I make.
-I play guitar and I'm a songwriter. So if you ask questions about music and poetry/songs, I'll most likely answer from the guitarist/singer's standpoint (i.e. you ask about music, I'll answer in how the guitar is, and how the lyrics/singing is. I might be able to critique the other instruments, but no promises are made).
-One final thing, I'm not "l337," and I can't read internet lingo too well (I can read some, but it's not a cake-walk). I'll try to understand and answer, but once again no promises are made.
-Don't get snippy at me. You're the one online asking someone advice, so just be glad I'm not being a jerk. Because I can, and if you get snippy I will.
-Rate me if you wish, but it's seriously not required. I'm happy to help you (if I do infact help).
Other than those little points, I'm happy to answer the questions you have. Enjoy!
Peace Out,
Guitar Dude

Well, I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "publish," because you can upload a poem on various sites for others to critique and comment on. I would say that www.fictionpress.com is a great place to publish poems/songs under a pen name.
If you want to check out what it's like, click on my link called "A Collection of My Writings." It has a lot of my songs/poems on there.

As the question says. :) Not to toot my own horn or anything like that, but I consider myself a good writer, as do my teachers. Essays, articles, parodies and reports get consistently excellent marks. However, I've desired to write creative stories, specifically fanfiction, for a long time, but I'm having trouble writing anything. Last time I've written fanfic was at 14; now I'm 17, and I'm afraid I've lost any spontaneity and skill I might've had. I don't believe imagination to be the problem, but I have trouble writing them out onto paper/computer, and I also have the problem of being too self-critical, so I'm constantly editing and deleting things (which doesn't do much for progress!). Does anybody have any suggestions to help? (link)

Well, what I would suggest is to take a piece of paper/document on the computer and write ideas that come to you. After you get a good list going, stop. A few days later, look at the list, and pick out a topic/idea/etc. that you like. Then, write it out. Doesn't matter if it's horrible or if it's award-winning, just write it out. After that, stop. A few days later, go back to it, and try to make it better. Don't delete it or anything, just try to make it a better story in any ways you think you can. Do that a few times, and eventually you'll have a story.
If that fails, go back to the list and pick something else. And if that fails, walk around with a notepad and write down various ideas you come up with when looking at things. Eventually, you'll find a very good idea that you can work with.
If you're doing fan-fiction, pick your favorite part/episode/scene from whatever you're writing a fan-fiction about. Embellish on it, play with the idea, see how that works.
One final idea is to do what I call a "paragraph story." What you do is condense any idea you have to a standard paragraph (between 3 and 8 sentences). This helps weed out any extra parts that you might not like later on. After you've condensed it, take out another sheet of paper/document and from that paragraph write a story. Add anything you want to the story, it's just a starting point.

Ok, in the small town of Tripan Falls, there was an old wise man, the local wise man for the town. He was dying, and was in the hospital for a very long time. Eventually, the family of the old wise man called in the local priest to give the old man a blessing.
The priest stepped right next to the man's bed, and began to recite bible passages. Suddenly, the old wise man's eyes widened, and he started motioning for a piece of paper and a pen, pulling at the priest's jacket. The priest nodded, and handed the old wise man a piece of paper and a pen. The old wise man quickly scribbled something on the paper, and immediately died. The priest took the paper, folded it up, and placed it in his jacket pocket, feeling that it was not right to read it at the moment.
A few days later, at the funeral, the priest was delivering a eulogy to the congregation. At the end of his eulogy, he realized that he was wearing the exact same jacket as when the old wise man died. He reached into his pocket and, sure enough, the piece of paper the old wise man wrote on was there.
"Ladies and gentlemen," the priest said, "I have the final words of our departed friend here, and I believe that it would be fitting to read them now. Perhaps it is his final piece of wisdom, which we can all take in and learn from."
The priest smiled at the congregation, and unfolded the piece of paper. Into the microphone, he read, "Hey, you're standing on my air tube."

does anybody know where i can get my poems published? for free?
i've already been published by poetry.com, and american poets society, but i'm looking for some new places... got any ideas? (link)

I would suggest www.fictionpress.com, because it has a very detailed system of sorting your works. You can pick genres for your poetry and submit it under a pen name. It even allows you to give it a rating (i.e. G, PG, PG-13, etc.) to your works. Other writers/readers will be able to comment on your works, though reviews are not guaranteed.
