I just found out that my best friend's dad passed away today. I knew that he had some kind of cancer and she'd been visiting him in the hospital for some time now, I also know that she did NOT get along with him. I never met him because he lived in SC and her and her mom lived in NC. (they weren't divorced, it's actually kind of confusing) Anyway, I'm just not too sure what to say to her. We've been friends longer than I can remember and I know this must be tough for her. I've had some friends pass away, but the only family I've had pass away was my great grandmother and my sister- I was young when my great grandmother passed away and I wasn't even born yet when my sister passed away, so I don't know everything she's going through.
I was just wondering if anyone here lost a parent and what others said to you that was comforting.
I plan on telling here that I'm here for her no matter where I am or what time it is, and I will be there, but somehow that just doesn't seem like enough... I don't know, I'm just looking for some advice on what I can say and what would be comforting. Thanks in advance. (link)

One of my best friend's mothers died in a car accident last year. I knew it was really hard for her, but I wasn't sure what to say. You should know that everyone deals differently with grief. Your friend may want company and comforting words. On the other hand, she may want to be alone. But, because you've known each other for so long and are so close, you should be able to discuss with her what she's feeling like. Hope I helped,

you should tell her that she has more than one reason to live and about the hitting thing, she should tell her mother that if she dosent believe her that she will report it to the authorities.

A lot of people judge people by their looks and not by their personality. i used to do that too. i realized you arnt going to become a better person and your not going to meet people by judging other people by their looks. It makes me want to cry how i am experecing this. I realized i have been doing that too. i told some people about this person awhile back whom i liked. he wasn't the greatest looking person and the people i told knew that. when i told them, they all looked at me in discuss. that night i reconsidered liking him because of what he looked like and how dorky he was. Now i could have become really good friends with that cretin guy, but because of people and myself judging him, i am not friends with him. Everyone will not notice this, but every look you give a person, if its bad it will bring him/her down. just think about it. How would ypu fee; about it, people making fun of the way you look, or the cold looks you get every day when you walk down the halls. you see every popular boy and girl with someone, having un. Then you see yourslef looking at them wishing you were them. Christina Auhulara has inspired me to write this paragraph, Her song "Beautiful" is a great song. I hope some day you will listen to this song and think the same this i do.

hi! i am so glad that someone has finally brought that up! People who judge people by how they look are probably insecure about themselves. I am in the same situation. I have liked this boy for 5 months. He isnt that cute and hes sort of goofy. But to me that dosent matter. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and if people cant accept that then forget them.
I have told people who judge by looks that if they were looking for someone beautiful and perfect that would make them happy that they should look deeper that outer appearences and if they didnt then they would end up old and alone and regret that they were shallow in the first place. hope this helps

ok ill get rite to the point. i have a problem with being open. i dont like telling ppl anything. my mom and dad always try to get things out of me but most of the time it doesnt work. ive been trying to lighten up and tell ppl things but its hard. does anyone know how i can tell ppl more about me and how i feel? i always think that they are y feelings that i keep to my self. i mean why should anyone else care about how i am feeling? is this right? please help...i rate~

ok me and this guy just met this year and were already best buddies!!hes really nice when no one else is around but when hes with his "cReW" he changes his attitude and everything.i like him and i kinda think he likes me too but he wont say anything but then sumtimes when were on the fone together(which makes me soo happy!) he kinda drops little hints but then goes back to these two girls he thinks he might like but then he says he'll probly never get with any of em..and one time he asked me right before we hung up on the fone if there was anything we wanted to clear up..so how can i get him to tell me how he feels about me truly??? First, of all you need to talk to your friend. Tell him how you feel and find out if he feels the same way. The best way to do that is to write him a letter. If he does feel the same way then you can go from there. If he dosent feel the same way then there is no reason for them to break up. Tell them that if he dosent feel the same way that you hope you can still be friends. Good luck!

I am a 13 year old boy, and a friend of mine is really beginning to annoy me. She (Yes, I have a friend who is a girl. No problems there.) keeps on mooning over other guys in front of me, telling me how much she thinks that they're hot, or how good looking they are, or how totally awesome their hair is, etc. CONSTANTLY. I don't think that there has ever been a moment where she's not talking about some other guy.
Sometimes, I suddenly get this weird jealousy feeling, but I don't feel jealous, I just want her to stop talking about other guys, and have us just be friends again.
Now someone out there, help me. I don't know what exactly I should do about this situation. (link)

I know you think that your not jealous but it sounds like you are. Are you sure you dont like her as more that a friend. or it could be that you were embarrased for her and you just wanted her to stop.
